The Department of Education and Psychology offers multifaceted opportunities to develop research methodology and application-related skills. The interdisciplinary range of subjects consisting of the academic fields of educational science (with the subjects of educational science, elementary school education and special education) and psychology make the department an attractive location for research. Affiliated to this is the Dahlem School of Education (DSE) with the focus in studies for teacher training.

They are responsible for the organization, coordination and further development of practice- and research-oriented training for teachers, taking into account the country-wide and country-specific regulations for teacher training courses. Practical training and close cooperation with schools offer a further advantage here. Building on the bachelor’s degree within a scientific area, there is the possibility of further developing in-depth specialist knowledge and scientific research methods in a consecutive master’s degree. Furthermore, the department offers excellent perspectives in research or science, also due to its international orientation.
